I have gotten my blog logo today. It is suppose to be a minimalist to keep things simple.
So did I design the logo myself or engage someone to help? I decided to choose the later.

Attempt on designing my own logo
At first I wanted to save some cost and decided to look for websites that provide free logo designs. I use the free software to design my own logo. When I have spend a reasonable amount of time on the logo, I decided it is good enough for me. However, I was disappointed when I wanted to save the image. It is NOT FREE. I need to pay in order to download the image and also the source file that allows me for future edits.
So it is free to design your logo, but you need to pay to own the logo.
Engaging Professional Help
So I decided to outsource the design to the professional. Gone were the days where you have to spend a few hundred just to get a designer to design your logo. I got the professionals in logo design to design my logo for a reasonable price.
This design of the logo was done by a seller in Fiverr for US$5 by the name of rroxx. For US$5, he will design two minimalist logo for you to choose with unlimited changes. This is as good as letting you change your logo unlimited amount of time. Not a bad deal right? I also decided to buy the source file that cost me US$5, that allows me to make my own edits in future.
Before you check out and make your payment, just search online for fiverr promotion code. There are many new codes with most of them giving 20% discount. Key in the code before you make your payment and you will be saving some money. A little discount is better than no discount right?
A review on my logo
So I have gotten two logos in less than 24 hours. And here they are.
These are the initial logos that was given to me and I accepted them readily. They are much better than if I were to design them myself. I chose the first design as it shows 5 people holding hands sharing with one another, for the purpose of this blog is to share experience.
The seller rroxx also gave me all the source file for both logo, even though I was suppose to choose one out of the two for the high resolution image and source file.
The source file he sent me initially was in PSD format (use in photoshop). However, I thought it was suppose to be in AI format (use in adobe illustrator), so i clarify and within minutes, I got a reply and they send me the AI format too.
All these was completed in less than 24 hours. And I would say their service was very good.
Difference between AI and PSD source file
So you are wondering what is the difference between AI and PSD. Which is more important for logo? In summary, AI uses vector. This means that the image will remain the same even when you stretch it to a huge size to be use in a banner for example. PSD format which is pixel based, which will show little boxes if the image is stretch too big for its file size.
I am not an expert in this, but here is a blog explaining the difference between JPG, PNG, EPS, PDF, PSD, AI, GIF, TIFF and which format is required for making your logo.
Feel free to provide comments on my logo and how I can improve it. If you think this post help you and you wish to help me, you can sign up with fiverr using this link and I will get a one time referral credits per invite when you purchase a gig from fiverr. It will help me a lot in improving this webpage.
